Cinnamon(Cinnamomum cassia)is not only a valuable traditional Chinese medicine,is also famous for one of the food source of the spice cassia. The present paper reviewed an overview of the previous reports concerning the chemical composition of cinnamon and their pharmacological activities, providing a useful reference for further relative investigations and developments of cinnamon.
