Abstract: Objective: Combine the results of CTA to evaluate the characteristics of intracranial and extracranial plaques in patients with hypertension and non-hypertension, and analyze the correlation between plaques and hypertension. Methods: The 60 patients with hypertension who underwent head and neck CTA examinations in our hospital from May 2019 to May 2020 (including 20 patients with grade 3, grade 2, and grade 1 hypertension respectively) were collected, then we selected 60 patients with non-hypertension during the same period, at last, we analyzed the CTA results of all patients and compared the characteristics of intracranial and extracranial plaques between two groups. Results: In terms of the probability of plaque, the detection rate of hypertension group was significantly higher than that of non-hypertension group, and in the hypertension group, the number of plaques was positively correlated with the level of hypertension; In addition, plaques of different nature are distributed differently in different hypertension levels. Conclusion: The occurrence of intracranial and extracranial plaques is significantly related to hypertension; CTA is an excellent technology that can be used to analyze the characteristics of vascular plaques and can provide the useful thinking for clinical prediction of stroke risk.
